Ready for a peel?
Skin Care Treatment
Chemical peels are one of the most effective ways to refresh and transform your skin. Whether your goal is to soften fine lines, clear congestion, fade dark spots or simply achieve a brighter, more even glow, a peel can deliver powerful results. But if it’s your first time-or it’s just been a while- knowing what to expect and how to prepare will help you get the most out of your treatment.
So, what exactly is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel is a professional skincare treatment that uses a customized blend of exfoliating acids to gently (or more deeply, depending on the type) remove the outer layers of skin. This process encourages cell renewal, helping reveal fresher, smoother and more radiant skin underneath.
There are many types of peel, ranging from light, no-downtime options to more advanced treatments that require a few days of recovery. The right peel for you will depend on your skin type, your goals and how much downtime you’re comfy with.
At PRMP, we tailor every peel to your unique skin’s needs so you can safely achieve the results you’re looking for.
No-Downtime Peels
What they are: Gentle, surface-level peels designed to refresh the skin without visible peeling or recovery time.
Best for: First-time peel clients, busy schedules, or anyone who wants to maintain a healthy glow without interruption to their routine.
Benefits: Brightens, smooths texture, calms inflammation, and improves overall radiance. These peels can be repeated more frequently, making them a great option for ongoing skin maintenance.
Sensation: You may experience a light tingling or warmth
Downtime: None. You can literally get one on your lunch break and go about your day.
Medium-Depth Peels
What they are: A step deeper than a no-downtime peel, mandelic acid is an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) derived from bitter almonds. It penetrates more slowly than other AHAs, which makes it effective yet gentle—especially for sensitive or darker skin tones.
Best for: Clients targeting specific skin concerns like acne, hyperpigmentation, uneven tone, or fine lines.
Benefits: Helps reduce breakouts, lightens discoloration, refines pores, and stimulates collagen production for smoother, firmer-looking skin.
Sensation: You will likely experience warming, prickling, mild itchiness (where there is more build-up)
Downtime: Minimal to moderate. You may notice mild flaking or shedding over a 1-3 weeks as your skin renews itself.
About 1 week into a medium depth, mandelic peel
Of note, we will never offer a medium-deep peel options for new clients. Your skin must be prepped properly with professional treatments and home care to ensure your skin will be able to tolerate the peel.
